White Bass also know as stripers, silver bass, or striped bass are found in plenty in big rivers.   White Bass like swift water and they are often found below dams and dikes.  To catch White Bass it is best to fish during clear, low water conditions during late summer and into late fall.

White Bass are sight feeders, artificial lures and small minnows are the best bait when trying to catch this species.  After locating a school of these fish, cast and retrieve white or yellow colored head jigs through the school of fish and wait for them to bite.   You can use the same tackle to catch White Bass as you would use to catch Walleye/Sauger, when the Walleye are biting so are the White Bass.
